Student Exhibition - massive thank you to our students & you!

We want to extend the biggest thank you to everyone who came to check out our Annual Student Exhibition held at Johnsonville Shopping Centre 24-27 Sept.

We had an incredible 4 days of exhibition, creativity, smiles, laughter, pride and heaps more, which included free pre-school sessions and finishing off with an awesome, packed 4 days of holiday programmes. It was wonderful to see so many of our artists, their families & friends celebrating their creativity!

The exhibtion show cased a range of fabulous art and craft from our awesome artists! We heard many stories of inspiration from kids describing their creative thinking! This is what SAH is all about, lives full of creativity!

TERM 4 IS HERE

Enrolment spots are still available… but get in quick!

With a blink of an eye, the end of the year is not far off!

Term 4 includes fabulous festive fun! We’ve got a bunch of projects planned around Halloween & Christmas festivals, including creating for our annual Christmas Tree at Wellington Airport.

Term 4 has got all the regular classes in all 3 studios with 3 more additional classes added. At the Plimmerton Studio we have 2 new classes, a Drawing Class on Wednesdays & a Special pop up class (creative worlds) on Fridays! At the Khandallah Studio we have the Advanced Drawing class coming back on Wednesdays, 5.15pm.

Term 4 classes start this coming Monday, 12 October with all classes back in the studio’s (no class Monday 26 October, Labour Day).

HALLOWEVENING AT SAMS ART HOUSE

Looking for an alternative to trick-or-treating?

Join us at Sams Art House, Ngaio Studio on Saturday 31 October, 5–8 pm for spooky decorations, dressed-up tutors and Halloween crafting!

It’s simple, $5 per child gets them two craft activities and a little lolly bag for them to take away. This is not a drop-off class so accompanying adults must ‘spook’ around. Children - come dressed-up to enter our special costume prize draw!

This is not a sit-down class but rather a come in, create, have a laugh, scare a couple of tutors, go in the costume draw, grab a bag of lollies and go on your merry way to scare the Ngaio community.  We expect a lot of kids coming through the doors so ask once kids have created their crafts to move on and let others come on in!  

Book a one-hour session here for either the 5-5.55pm, 6-6.55pm or 7-8pm slots, or pop in on the night—walk-ins welcome where space allows (bring cash).

We will have a cheap sausage sizzle on offer to feed the troops (bring cash), spooky music and much more.

Sams Art House is heading back to Wellington Airport for the annual Cystic Fibrosis Christmas Tree Festival!

We’re excited to return to the Wellington Airport Christmas Tree Festival, supporting Cystic Fibrosis NZ 2026. From the beginning of November our students will be creating up a storm for the 2026 tree, with our top-secret theme revealed during Term 4!

We are installing the SAH tree on Tuesday, 24 November, so keep an eye out for sneak peeks and the big reveal. (2025 SAH Christmas tree)

CHRISTMAS COMES TO OUR STUDIOS

Join us at Sams Art House, Ngaio Studio for the Annual Ngaio Village Christmas Party on Friday, 11 December, 6-8pm!

We are starting a new tradition with our first ever celebration of Christmas at our Plimmerton Studio with an Open Studio on Friday, 4 December 5.30-7.30pm.

At both events, the studio’s will be open with free Christmas crafting, face painting, badge making, raffles, lolly jar competition, sausage sizzle (scouts will be running the Ngaio one so bring some cash) and heaps more! Bring the kids, the family, the nanna & the poppa, the dog, all welcome! (the jolly red person might even show up!)

Got a January or February birthday to plan? Get your 2027 Arty Party in the diary before the Christmas chaos kicks in & head into summer with their birthday sorted! Parties run most Saturday afternoons, Sunday mornings & afternoons at both Ngaio & Plimmerton Studios.

Awesome Christmas Adult Art Classes

Creativity has no age limit! We have 3 awesome classes coming up in November at our Plimmerton Studio for adults to get their creative juices flowing and their Christmas cheer on!

Sam is running a fabulous Christmas Wreath (non-traditional) class on Thursday 12 Nov & a Christmas in a Jar class on Thursday 26 Nov. These are fun filled, festive classes with lots of chatter, gluing, cutting and fun!

We also have a fantastic class with guest artist & Candle Maker Extraordinaire, Moira Garside joining us for a lovely Christmas season candle making class 29 November.
