There is so much to celebrate at Sams Art House!

This term, all our students, across all classes have been busy creating incredible animal-inspired artworks for our second ever Student Art Exhibition, which will once again be held in an awesome space at Johnsonville Shopping Centre at the end of term 3.

We are also loving our first term at our brand new Plimmerton studio. This new space is huge compared to Ngaio & Khandallah studios. It’s still a little ‘beige’ for Sam’s liking but as we all know Sam, it won’t be beige for long!

It’s fabulous to see so many returning and new students coming through all 3 studio doors.

We have also opened bookings for our Sept/Oct Holiday Programmes. We have our usual two weeks at Ngaio Studio & brand new one week of creativity (the second week) at our Plimmerton Studio.

Heaps more, including adult classes, our ‘budding’ artists (preschool) classes and new birthday party dates.

Our Second Annual Student Art Exhibition 24-27 September!

After the success of last year’s exhibition, we’re going even bigger this year with more students & more artwork, back in the same space at Johnsonville Shopping Centre.

This term, our students have been exploring animals and their habitats, creating artwork inspired by creatures from all around the world. The exhibition will feature pieces from all classes & some of our tutors might even show off their talents! If your child has any recent artwork they would like to exhibit, please bring it into class, with their name on the back & it can be hung in the exhibition.

School Holiday Programme Enrolments Are Open!

Ngaio Studio

Monday 28 September – Friday 9 October

Our Ngaio Studio will be running two weeks of colourful, creative sessions, including painted skateboard decks, fairy gardens, treehouse dioramas, glow in the dark galaxy jars, dream catcher mobiles, dinosaur dioramas, treasure boxes and plenty more! Your kids don’t want to miss any of these sessions!

Plimmerton Studio

Monday 5 October – Friday 9 October

Our first Plimmerton Studio holiday programme will run for the second week of the holidays & includes a full-day dollhouse workshop, crazy cactus in a can, Squishmallows-inspired art, underwater jars, magical book nooks and designer wooden mannequins.

Spaces are limited, so make sure you book early to secure your child’s favourite sessions!

Adult Art Classes at our Plimmerton Studio!

We’re excited to be offering some awesome new Adult Art Classes at our Plimmerton Studio.

We not only have Sam running a Still Life/Abstract Painting Class & a Funky Painted Wooden Totem for your Garden class, we have guest artist & Candle Maker Extraordinaire, Moira Garside joining us for some lovely candle creating afternoon/evenings.

Our classes are fun, relaxed sessions, giving adults a chance to unwind & get creative.

Budding Artists (preschool) Classes

Our Budding Artists don’t miss out either! New dates for all Budding Artists are out now, including 2 free sessions during our Student Art Exhibition (must be booked into). These sessions are playful, age-appropriate & designed for our littlest artists to explore their creativity with a parent/guardian.

Arty Birthday parties are EPIC at Sams Art House!

Sams Art House Art Parties are awesome. We have 2 fab studios to choose from, with dates loaded for the remainder of 2026! Parties run Saturday afternoons, Sunday mornings & afternoons.

Other News!

Sams Art House team is also running some cool, Burger Wellington creative sessions at the amazing Kai Tahi centre in Poirua on the weekends of 15/16 and 22/23 August. As you guessed it, these are burger related creative projects including a Burger Party Hat, Burger inspired Bunting, Giant Cardboard Burger and, yes you guessed it, a Burger Robot! Term 4 enrolments open Friday 21 August for the general public. Watch your emails for early notice of enrolment roll-over the beginning of that week.

We also welcome some wonderful new faces to the Sams Art House tutor team. Some of your kids will have met them in classes. We will introduce them over the coming weeks on our website, Facebook & insta pages.
